Christmas in Gowerton 2020

Gowerton Conservative Club provides Xmas Lunches to those in need

Peter and his staff at the Con Club cooked and deliverered approximately 70 lunches on Christmas Day to those who were in need or alone.

This was an incredibly generous gesture and we would also like to thank Gowerton Co-Op for the donations of food that were added to the food provided by Peter.

Big thank you to all involved who selflessly gave up time out of their Christmas Day to help out.

We look forward to when we come out of lockdown and the Con Club is open again for delicious Sunday Lunches.  Please support our local businesses. They have done such a fantastic job throughout this difficult period.

Gowerton Community Spirit Shines Through Yet Again.

The Community Spirit came out in force again this month with the guys from Nomad Bar and Kitchen providing a Christmas Dinner on the 13 December 2020 for the lonely and vulnerable people in the Village.

In addition to a great Christmas dinner, everyone had a gift bag including:

Christmas crackers courtesy of Asda in Gorseinon, a small bag of chocolates courtesy of the Co Op Store in Gowerton, a box of 6 mince pies courtesy of Asda, Gorseinon and Gowerton Rugby Club, a couple of pictures (some examples attached) courtesy of the pupils at Gowerton Primary and a Christmas card from us all (Nomad, Gowerton RFC, Gowerton CC, Gowerton Primary school staff and pupils, Asda, Gorseinon, Gowerton Co Op and of course Cllr Sue Jones.

The meals and gift bags were delivered by a team of volunteers from the Rugby and Cricket Clubs.

A big thank you to all 16 drivers and very capable assistants that completed the deliveries.

On behalf of County Councillor Sue Jones, all at Gowerton Community Council and the village of Gowerton, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a massive thank you.
